The two were reportedly seen out together last month at private club Soho House in West Hollywood, and an observer says it appeared they were more than just friends.
'They were affectionate, holding hands and cuddling!' the observer told Us Weekly magazine of the June 19 rendez-vous.
Us Weekly also reports that the two high-profile entertainers spent the following night together as well.
Katy, 27, is said to have invited John 34, over to her place in Los Angeles for pizza.
The two-night date went down just days after Perry and Russell Brand finalized their divorce.

He began dating actress Minka Kelly in September 2007, but they split up before the year's end.
Mayer began dating actress Jennifer Aniston in April 2008, but broke it off the following August. They resumed dating in October 2008 and split up again in March 2009.
He was also romantically linked to Taylor Swift from late 2009 until June 2010. They recorded together the song Half of My Heart.
She wrote a song about her relationship with him, Dear John, which appears on her 2010 Speak Now album. The song painted Mayer in a less than flattering light.
