Carrie Underwood made the most of some rare free time yesterday on a romantic visit to a lake with her husband Mike Fisher.

The happy couple soaked up the sun and cooled off in the clear waters at the serene spot in Canada.

Carrie showed off her svelte figure in a black string bikini with eye-popping rainbow trim as she relaxed in the warm weather.

The country star happily displayed her curvy physique as she wandered around and the kept her blonde locks from getting wet by tying them into a messy low bun.

She had been sporting a patriotic American flag tank top along with a pair of tiny Daisy Dukes.

Carrie was seen sipping on a beer as she attempted to cool down in the heat before slipping into the lake and making a face at the shock of the cold water.

As the 29-year-old worked on her tan while chatting to one of her female friends, it seems her Nashville Predators hockey player beau grew a little restless.

Mike was seen occupying himself by jumping into the water repeatedly in order to avoid listening to all the girl talk.

And when that wasn’t enough to keep him busy Mike decided to whiz around on a jet ski.

Tanning time: Carrie was clearly delighted that the weather was so great as she spent most of her day working on her golden tan

Staying active: Carrie also tried her hand at paddleboarding during the fun day at the lake after slipping on a lifejacket

Carrie then opted to try her hand at paddleboarding and donned a lifejacket before getting stuck into the watersport.

The American Idol winner decided to play it safe and remained cross-legged on the board while navigating with the oar before cautiously trying her hand at standing up.

Carrie wore a big smile on her face after getting the hang of the activity, which is becoming increasingly popular with celebrities.

The singer is currently on a world tour so it’s no wonder the star was enjoying some rest and recuperation in between shows.

And no doubt Carrie is delighted to have her sports star other half by her side during the gruelling travelling schedule.

She was in Australia earlier this month before jetting to Canada, and will afterwards head to the United States.
